Research Group for Inclusive Social Welfare Policies (GIV)
The primary goal of GIV is to increase our understanding of the factors contributing to as well as reducing poverty and processes of social exclusion.
This will be achieved by the production and dissemination of research-based knowledge aimed to contribute to the development of inclusive welfare policies and practices. In so doing, GIV will develop and maintain close contacts with policy makers, practitioners and affected groups.
The research program of GIV prioritizes:
- Dynamic analyses of social exclusion, poverty and social assistance
- Examinations of the content and effects of social work interventions and social policy implementations
- Dissemination of new information concerning social welfare policies and the development of poverty and social exclusion in Norway and elsewhere
