On the Case
Workshop on methodological issues around case studies
The question underlying this workshop pertains to the collective construction of knowledge. How to move beyond the particularity of single-object studies? During two afternoon sessions of three hours each, we will discuss the status of the singular object of analysis in relation to the generalizations habitual in the construction of knowledge. Briefly, I will propose the move from the monograph, via the case study, to the theoretical object. Three articles will serve to offer examples as well as theoretical thoughts about this issue.
